Find the Account that Best Suits Your Needs

Your checking account is the most important financial tool you will use. That’s why we offer numerous options at State Bank of Herscher.

From basic accounts like Great Start or Basic Checking, to our more rewarding Now, Super Now and Bonus Accounts, you’ll find just the right fit for your finances.

Basic Checking

A great option for personal use, this account only requires $100 to open. Plus, it has few restrictions. Simply keep a daily balance of at least $300 in your checking account, or $500 in an affiliated savings account*, to avoid a monthly $5 service fee.

No service charges will be assessed for full-time students, military members, or senior citizens.


Great Start Accounts

Get your child or grandchild off to a great financial start with a Great Start Account. This account can be used up to age 25 for any individual owner and has no minimum balance requirement other than an initial $100 to open the account.

There is no monthly service charge for the first 20 checks, but each additional check comes with a $0.20 charge.


Now and Super Now Accounts

Our Now and Super Now accounts are designed for those who keep higher balances in their accounts, and they reward them for doing so.

Now Account Details

  • Minimum deposit of $1,000 to open an account.
  • Interest is compounded monthly and credited on the last day of each month.**
  • Interest rate and annual percentage yield may change. At our discretion, we may change the interest rate on your account monthly.
  • Customers who maintain a $1,000 daily balance will not be assessed a monthly service charge.
  • Customers who fail to keep the minimum balance will be assessed a monthly $5 service charge.
  • Non-personal NOW customers will be assessed 20 cents per check after the first 20 checks each month. This does not include deposit activity.
  • This account is limited to natural persons, governmental units, and non-profit organizations. Per government regulations, corporations are not allowed to have a NOW account.

Super Now Account Details

  • Minimum deposit of $2,500 to open an account.
  • Interest is compounded monthly and credited on the last day of each month.**
  • Interest rate and annual percentage yield may change. At our discretion, we may change the interest rate on your account monthly.
  • There is a $2,500 minimum daily balance required. Accounts with less than the minimum balance will be assessed a $10 service charge each month.
  • This account is limited to natural persons, governmental units, and non-profit organizations. Corporations or businesses are not allowed to have a Super NOW account.

Regular Bonus Checking

It only takes $100 to open, and your monthly statement fee is determined by the amount of insurance coverage you choose (basic is $6/month; family is $8/month).

Now Bonus Checking

It only takes $1,000 to open the account. All interest is compounded monthly and is credited on the last day of the month.** Your interest rate and annual percentage yield may change at our discretion.

If the balance of the account remains at $1,000 or above, monthly fees are $4 for basic insurance coverage and $6 for family coverage.

If the balance of the account falls below $1,000, monthly fees are $9 for basic coverage and $11 for family coverage.
