State Bank of Herscher: Rooted in Community Since 1902
Since 1902, State Bank of Herscher has been proud to serve the financial needs of our neighbors, local businesses, and the agricultural community that helps define our region. Rooted in Kankakee County for more than a century, we remain committed to building strong relationships, delivering the personalized service you expect from local bankers you know and trust, and supporting the communities we call home.
In 2015, State Bank of Herscher joined Foresight Financial Group, aligning with a family of locally owned community banks across northern Illinois that shared the same commitment to relationship-driven service and local decision-making. Together with German American State Bank, State Bank of Davis, State Bank, Freeport, Lena State Bank, and Northwest Bank of Rockford, this partnership strengthened our collective foundation while preserving each bank’s community identity.
A New Chapter: State Bank of Herscher, a Division of Foresight Bank
As of May 1, 2025, State Bank of Herscher proudly became a division of Foresight Bank, bringing our six long-standing community banks together under one name and one charter while maintaining the local leadership and personalized service our customers value.
Together, we now form one of the largest locally headquartered and managed banking organizations within northern Illinois, combining more than a century of community banking experience with the technology, resources, and strength of a unified bank.
